Richard “Rich” Michael Frost Obituary, Death – Minnesota Man Remembered After Tragic Motorcycle Accident

Richard “Rich” Michael Frost, 61, of Chisago, Minnesota, is being remembered by his family and friends following his death on Friday, August 21, 2026, after complications from a tragic motorcycle accident.

Frost was born on April 10, 1965, in Forest Lake, Minnesota, to Lennea and Gail (Erickson) Frost. He spent his childhood in Hugo, where he grew up alongside his siblings and began forming the relationships that would remain important throughout his life.

While attending Forest Lake High School, Rich met Chris Dupre. The two later married in 1987 and went on to raise their two sons, Bradley and Andrew, in Stacy, Minnesota. They later divorced.

Remembering Richard “Rich” Frost

Rich was known as someone who could do a little bit of everything. Throughout his life, he held numerous jobs and developed a wide range of practical skills, earning a reputation as a true jack of all trades.

For the four years before his passing, he worked at AL-KO Home Improvements, where he used his experience repairing homes alongside his boss and friend, Jim.

Many people also knew Rich by the nickname “Scrappy.” The name reportedly came from his younger years when he and his brother-in-law Mike spent time scrapping metal.

Outside of work, Rich found much of his happiness outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting for agates, as well as spending time with family members and friends. He was also known for constantly working on one project or another and for his remarkable generosity.

Those who knew him remembered a man willing to help others whenever he could, with his family describing him as someone who would quite literally give the shirt off his back.

Family members mourn his loss

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings Joseph Frost, Anita Betley, Ruth Forsberg and Leo Frost. He was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law Steve Huard, Mike Seaver, Paul Betley and Geoff Forsberg.

He is survived by his sons, Bradley Frost and Andrew Frost; his siblings Beverly Jensen, Connie Huard, Naomi Chinn and her husband Randy, Denise Seaver, Janelle Frost-Harris, Christine Muellner and her husband Mark, and Patrick Frost and his wife Becky.

He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a large circle of friends who will continue to remember his life and the memories they shared with him.

Rich will be laid to rest at Saint John Baptist Cemetery in Hugo, Minnesota, in a private burial service for family.

As the family mourns his unexpected passing, they have also expressed appreciation to everyone who has offered prayers, kind words and support. A donation page has been established for those who wish to assist the family during this difficult period.
